Pinkbike Poll: Do You Have Long Or Short Legs For Your Height?
@m1dg3t: did you read the original article? they found that people just increased rpm to compensate to get the same wattage. I would also argue that you are not considering where the person has their best mechanical advantage. So think about your 36" argument. Unlike sitting on a bike, you are able just to step right or left and get the same leverage on the end of the ratchet. Long ass cranks would put your knees past 90 degrees. Go to a gym and load up a hack squat rack and only go 1/2 way/45 degrees and notice how much easier it is to stand up. If you go fully to 90 degrees it is much harder. Go past 90 degrees and put your butt to the floor and it gets much harder again. All parts of the equation you might not be considering.

Pinkbike Poll: Do You Have Long Or Short Legs For Your Height?
@Bomadics: 5'9" with 30" legs. The Devinci Troy and it's 460mm reach fits really well after moving a few spacers above the stem. Ideally a lower standover would be nice but I have an inch of clearance. I think I can get a 180mm OneUp dropper on the bike at full height due to decent seat tube length and 250mm insertion space for a medium. My last bike, a 2020 GT Sensor, felt a size smaller. Really liking the trend to long and slack.

@BikesNRussets: How are you this bad at Google. Idaho+climate change + concern + by county. https://stacker.com/idaho/counties-most-concerned-about-climate-change-idaho Read the nature.org one too https://www.nature.org/en-us/about-us/where-we-work/united-states/idaho/stories-in-idaho/tackling-climate-change-in-idaho/

@BikesNRussets: like I said, they don't have generic statements in the polls like they do for Idaho They break things down into more defined categories for things such as concern about rising temperatures etc. But I have a hard time believing that the guy that called us woke tree huggers has a hard time with 60%. I pointed you to the nature.org article with very similar numbers as the ones from the other article. Did you read it? Did you click the hyperlinks in the article which show 53% of people in Idaho are concerned about climate change? Damn near identical numbers? That should satisfy most people's concerns that those other numbers are reasonably accurate. Otherwise, I owe you nothing so Google up.

@BikesNRussets: Only one of us is about pulling random numbers out of their asshole. I used very specific numbers that can be searched up and verified. You can use Google and find the article yourself. Or do it the hard way and read the whole shebang from Yale's climate opinion maps/survey. Nature.org has an idaho climate concern story as well. Click the links to get actual numbers from actual surveys on what the population actually thinks.

@BikesNRussets: I do have a degree in english but i am also a red seal tradesman currently teach trades. What you are doing is beyond hyperbole. Your statements don't get pass the sniff test, not even a little bit. I don't know what kind of agenda you have for pushing that bullshit, but you're against the topic so you make shit up? Your moral compass needs recalibration in my opinion.

@BikesNRussets: 99%? Time for an information session. From Yale the numbers of people concerned about climate change in Idaho. By county, your least concerned is Franklin at 46%, you have a total of 7/44 counties that are under 50%, 1 county right at 50%, and 36/44 with more people concerned about climate change. The county with the highest percentage of concerned people is Blaine at just under 66%. Percentage of people in Idaho that think congress should do more to address global warming seems to sit around 46-47% although I have no desire to crunch numbers. By contrast, I think the number of people concerned about climate change is around 60% in BC although wording is not the same and they like to break the polls into more specific categories. We do have a ton of people that rely on logging and oil and gas and push back against the topic though. We are not a homogeneous society. But by now you should realise that your society is not either. You are living in a social media world where algorithms can often lead you to think your opinion is pervasive in society. It is not.

Fact. BC has had unprecedented heat waves, fires, floods, and other natural disasters. Fact 2. Pinkbike is located in BC and the staff probably noticed the stuff going on from fact 1. Guess. Living through this fucking apocalyptic bullshit has some of them thinking about the environment a little bit more than they used to. Guess. You're so caught up in right vs left bullshit that a fucking article about reducing packaging and recycling batteries gets you worked up for some strange reason.
