Video: Riding Germany's Spring Colours
@joe113: Might be an idea not to have a profile pic of you in a FF before you call anyone a Pussy for wearing a FF, just saying.

Archer Components' Wireless Electronic D1x Shifter - Review
@Asmodai: By hacking I meant it cannot be interfered with which would include jamming or any other such shenanigans.

First Ride: Ghost Hybride SL AMR X S7.7+ LC eMTB
@RedRedRe: There is no difference in speed on the trails, on the downs an EMTB is the same as a MTB and on the ups an EMTB makes a mere mortal like Lance Armstong on EPO, that's about it, they are not tearing up and down the trails like gas powered motorbikes. The whole of the biking industry is marketed to the 30+ gang as those are people with a disposable income to buy the expensive bikes and it is what keeps the industry alive. If you think Ebikes are lame that's fair enough but if you are part of the cult that thinks it ruins the spirit of MTB or some other such bullshit then you should be riding a rigid Klunker down the trails.

Rider Killed by Cougar in Washington State
Condolences to the family , very tragic. While I haven't faced off against a Mountain Lion , I was chased down by a pack of wild dogs on a solo ride in Jungle, I luckily managed to make an escape while setting a PB down the section of trail, not so luckily probably due to some bad line choices I managed to get flat. While trying to set another PB for the quickest tube change ever as I could hear the dogs coming again I questioned my decision to not run tubeless. As I could hear the Dogs getting closer I thought I was going to have to fight them off and the only thing I managed to find was a few rocks and a large stick to act a club. I am sure many will say how they will act in this sort of scenario, however, when on your own it's a different story. Quite frankly I was shitting myself. I managed to sort the flat and get the fuck out of there thankfully. While in no way do I compare it to being chased down by a Cougar or a bear it does make for a funny story to why I choose to run tubeless.

Archer Components' Wireless Electronic D1x Shifter - Review
While I think this is pretty cool , as it still involves a cable I am not really digging it, it seems more like a hack to me, but kudos to the inventor. I am not sure why we haven't already seen an Etap system from Sram for Eagle, it should be far easier to produce as the brake levers are not part of the system so would only require a shifter box and the rear mech, I can only assume they don't think there is enough of a market for it as the risk of a thrashed expensive rear mech is more of a risk in MTB vs road riding. A great advantage for elec shifting is each cog is individually indexed rather than the whole cassette.

Sram already thought of that on Etap, it's basically impossible to hack or so they say.

Lapierre Overvolt AM 727i - First Ride
I have never been a E-Bike hater, but a few years ago I just didn't really see the point of them for the most part. Now that the bikes are starting to look good and we are seeing good use cases for them I can see me getting one in the future. If I am honest I hate riding up hills and view it as a necessary evil to get my fun in, while I wouldn't use one at my local trail centre as it's pretty flat but if it avoids me having to book uplifts then that's a good thing IMHO. In a couple of the places I ride that are push up's a lot of people are considering getting an Ebike.
