Must Watch: Nico Vink's End of Year Roundup is Nothing Short of Epic
Total Steeze from another planet ! The fact that he’s a humble and laid back guy that everyone loves just adds to the man’s character. God I wish I could ride a bike like that.

DVO Welcomes Reece Wallace - Video
Reese can clearly rock a trance way beyond the minor challenges this flow trail offers up. Really smooth and confident riders like him can flog any whip with style way past the intended user profile, regardless of the suspension choice. I've seen too many riders in Boulder on six year old bikes kicking total ass on people with the latest $10K boutique steed. Put time into developing the skills and then drop the cash on the bike that fits your style.

Mongoose's $2,999 Teocali Pro - Review
YT for the competitive win on price point - for now ! This bike and the welcome PB review does throw some deep shade on numerous brands competing for your hard-earned cash. Seriously, YT and a dozen other brands can't figure out how to spec a threaded bb to their manufacturers in Taiwan - wtf ? ? Sizing and fit details ?? Canyon's U.S. website can ( sorta) tell 95% of their potential buyers what size bike they should ideally buy, contingent upon a riders measurements and riding style. I've seen 380 pages of routine questions in PB's jeffsy forum on what size bike should consider buying and YT and its community of fanboi's still can't answer that question with any clarity. The biggest win with this review is that a sensible price point in decent and rideable new bikes is slowly becoming a welcome reality and option for many. If you've got a fat wad of cash burning a hole in your pocket, get your dream bike order placed at Yeti's ( or fill in your favorite boutique brand ) website. If you're like the other 95 % of us here, look at the numerous options we now thankfully enjoy and tell today's competing brands what you want in a new bike before you click the "buy"button.

2017 Pinkbike Awards: Mountain Bike of the Year Winner
Renting this bike turned me on to the geometry and the 29" wheel size. I bought a YT 29 CF1 as a result and couldn't be happier. Thanks Trek !

Ride of the Dead - Video
What a rare treat to see such a quality production of a beautiful story. Mad respect for Yefra ! He is in the vanguard of a group of riders in Mexico that are quietly developing the most amazing trials all throughout Mexico. The potential for developing world class singletrack in Mexico is totally off the hook and a little community support from the larger rider community would go a long way there. The added bonus is the amazing new friends you'll make if you go to Mexico to ride. I spent five consecutive years putting up new routes and climbing in Potrero Chico near Monterrey and I was fortunate to partner up with many Mexican climbers. I was amazed at how truly badass the Mexiican climbers were and how much fun they were to spend time with. The bikers there are no different - their whip is whatever they can afford and get their hands on and they they totally pin it every ride. If you're looking for buffed-out single track, go elsewhere. If you can flow on the rough and wild, you'll be in heaven. I'm going to do this race. I might be the slowest ass, geriatric gringo to ever limp to the finish, but it would be worth every minute.

Felt Bicycles Joins the Direct Sales Movement
Felt could be giving their bikes away for free with this model and still not see their mountain bikes leaving the building. Uninspired and overpriced clones don't cut it anymore

The Mountain Bike Technology Wishlist - Opinion
Way better flat pedal shoes ++ ! 5.10 has this incredibly stupid ( read marketing pricey , and you drank the koolaid) marketing chokehold on a considerable market segment that should demand far better products using current technology resources. Open minded about supporting companies trying to advance the flat pedal tech outside of the "Walmart " model of mountain bike shoe makers - you betcha !

Lopes Punching Kabush After the Race? Here’s What That’s All About
Lopes gave Kabush a fair head's up. Kabush wanted to rattle his cage to feed his own ego and Lopes delivered on his promise - end of story Lopes should be given props for being true to his word. Given that he was given plenty of notice ahead of time, Kabush looked slow on D and should be grateful that Lopes didn't tag him upside the noggin. Kabush should also count his blessings that Lopes isn't a bg guy - if a Clydesdale like me hit him, he'd be walking funny for several weeks.
