While I can't argue with the "Rules-are-rules - everyone has to follow them and so should you" thought process here, I think there is little understanding of how burdensome the Whereabouts process actually is. This process requires you to indicate where you are and what you are doing every hour of every day (I.e. the hotel address and room number where you are sleeping, your exact travel details, etc.) It is in addition to those details that athletes our required to indicate a 1-hour window every day where they are accountable and must be accessible for testing, with all of such information having to be provided a certain number of weeks in advance. Now imagine an athlete that is sleeping in a different hotel bed every 3 days for 9 months of the year, on streets without names, and with plans changing with the weather. Having had to comply with whereabouts myself, I cannot express how much of a pain in the ass this. Is it on Vlad to meet the obligations he's committed to? Of course. Is there an onus on the UCI and WADA to facilitate a process that puts a greater focus on addressing ill-intent and penalizing those who can't handle the paperwork? Absolutely

Great to see these ruffling some feathers! Was lucky to stand on a pair this summer and immediately knew I’d be getting a set. Super burly and high quality. Bit of a ‘oh, I get it now’ moment when you feel the effective concavity combo’d with the pendulum effect. Add on the rock shedding from the low-side, and I really think these are a step-change from what’s currently available. Hell yea Outlier!
