DH Bike Review: Nukeproof's Dissent 297 is a Versatile Park Shredder
As a mtb'er doomed to tinker forever I have a Code RSC on the rear for the Swinglink and quicker bite point to account for the longer length of hose's flex. I have a Code R on the front for better modulation without the swinglink. The shorter hose makes them feel about the same bite-wise. I feel like out of the box there is a difference--but if you prep the pistons and bleed an R and RSC well it is hard to tell the difference in terms of performance. As you go through pads the RSC do feel better for longer though, that's the only difference I can tell.

Review: Leatt 7.0 HydraDri Waterproof Flat Pedal Shoes
@Mtmw: yeah the strap under the shoes gets chewed up a bit but have survived probably 20-30 rides no problem so far. I see them as a wear item, they probably won’t last forever. Also add some baby powder every once and a while or they are treacherous to get on.

Review: Leatt 7.0 HydraDri Waterproof Flat Pedal Shoes
I've been riding with my normal flats, just with the $20 Velotoze mtb shoe cover over them. Keeps me dry and warm, laces free of muck and I just hose my feet down in them at the end of a ride to clean up. If they tear its $20 lost.. not $200 for a dedicated wet weather shoe. They are all the rage in road. They don't win the cool points in mtb, but dang they work well.

Pinkbike Poll: How Often Do You Replace Your Frame, Headset, & Bottom Bracket Bearings?
Anecdotal-- but it almost completely depends on the component alignment and quality.
My Enduro frame came with an FSA headset that bled rusty goo and creaked like hell in about 3 months of winter riding.
Two years later the replacement wolftooth headset has never been touched.
Misaligned trunnion frame eats bearings in about 4-6 months, other bike ridden concurrently has never had the bearings replaced in 2.5 years.
DUB bbs accept crooked tapping much better and have lasted 2-3 times as long as bsa30 for me, usually about 18 months.
TLDR; Bike companies please stop trying to hide cables-- just align your frames better and use higher quality parts.

Review: Five Ten Hellcat Pro Clipless Shoes
"Before you ask, that isn't a direct quote from Brian Fantana but it may as well be." Is one of the funnier lines I've read in a review lol

Field Test: Trek Fuel EX - Evolution Underlined
I got a 2022 Top Fuel and it has some of the most impressively bad paint I’ve ever seen, including drips at the pivots and now has chips everywhere. Great bike but horrendous paint.

Are Shimano & SRAM Developing Brakes For Headset Cable Routing?
Bring it on ASAP! Existing Codes are already super discounted, when these new ones come out the current ones will get even cheaper and I'll keep buying em.

Field Test: Santa Cruz Hightower - Extra Normal, Extra Good
Look at the heel rub in the first photo! They'd only been riding this bike for a few days when this photo was taken. An $11k bike and the paint sucks?! Throw in the non-factory or ultimate level suspension, 50t (not newest 52t) cassette and it seems like SC is cutting a lot of corners to pad margins. Plus the whole 'our bikes are expensive because we assemble them in the US' has always struck me as a cop-out. So does Propain and an equivalent Hugene build is $3k less...DTC but still

First Look: 2023 Commencal T.E.M.P.O. - A New Short Travel Trail Bike
@Sweatypants: I destroyed a stock acros headset in about 8 months riding in the rain and washing my bike. Replaced it with a Cane Creek 40 from an older bike and it is still kicking 2 years later. Your 110 is great, this headset sucks and will eat bearings and can’t be replaced with a cane creek (or other quality headset like wolftooth)

First Look: Starling Cycles Adds Adjustability & Tweaks Geometry
Less BB drop and 11sp drivetrain! Two things I hope the bike industry re-adopts. (I can dream can't I?!)
