First Ride: Aper Kompace - Now THAT's A High Pivot
I’ve watched that onboard riding video time & time again, and can’t help thinking some “feedback” Seb is feeling may be exaggerated by some less than optimal fork setup. If you watch closely his forks seem stuck somewhere In the mid stroke; they bob on the climb but on the downhill, there’s very little movement on bigger hits. They don’t seem to recover that much from the travel they do use either. They appear to be just using the mid 20mm of travel only. They look awful.

Jan 23, 2024Orange Stage Evo - Oxblood Red - Large
$1350 GBPOrange Stage Evo, size Large in Oxblood red. I have had many bikes, including many Oranges, & this is by far the most fun & capable bike I have ever owned. Never mind grin inducing, it makes me laugh out loud. Due to health issues this is hardly used, hence the sale.
It includes the Fox DPX2 shock, axle, seat collar, Cane Creek headset & I can leave the cables for the dropper & rear derailleur threaded through the internal frame routing (the dropper was a pig to thread).
The frame is totally unmarked, without even a scuff, stone chip or any marking anywhere that I can find. Even the dropouts are unscathed..! The condition is virtually as new. I say “virtually” but if you saw it hung in a showroom it certainly wouldn’t look out of place amongst all the other new frames.
Anyway, having owned far too many Orange bikes in my time, I would argue that this is the best trail bike they ever built. I even saw some ridiculously fast French fella racing the Megavalanche on one this year.
I’ve priced it less than half of what I paid. I would prefer collection but could post at the buyers expense. I would prefer whatever means of payment doesn’t hammer me for fees, but we could discuss this down the line.
If you have any questions whatsoever, require further photographs, or simply want to chat shit about how good Orange frames ride, then please do not hesitate to contact me

Sep 27, 2020Orange Alpine 160
$2150 GBPOrange alpine 160 Size 18” (Large). This is the later 650b or 27.5” specific frame not the older 26” version.
This bike has been my “best” bike and is consequently hardly used. It’s got a fantastic top drawer specification and is barely marked anywhere. It is a 2016 frame which was built in 2018 and has only been used for about 20 hours maximum. I can’t justify keeping a bike I’ve ridden once this year. It cost over £5k to build..!
Frame - black with orange decals size Large. I’ve removed some of the decals because they were way too loud for my liking. I can’t find one mark on this frame. I also have a carbon fibre rock guard, which I will include.
Shock - Bos Kirk (less than 5 hrs use)
Forks - Bos Deville (less than 5hrs use)
Headset - Chris King inset 5 low stack
Seatpost - Thomson elite covert 125mm dropper
Derailleur - Shimano slx7000
Brakes - Shimano XT8000 (brand new)
Cranks - Shimano slx 7000 with 30 teeth NW shimano chainring
Wheel set - WTB i23 rims DT Swiss spokes on Hope pro2 hubs
Bars - Funn Full On
Stem - Truvativ Holzfeller 40mm
Pedals - Shimano Saint flats
Saddle - Charge Spoon (this is older than everything else on the bike and has a scuff, but it’s ooooh so comfy)
One Up chain device
The bike is in exceptional condition - lack of use is the reason for selling. Everything works exactly how it should without any issues whatsoever. Nothing has been used enough to require a service and should be good for ages to come - it just needs using..!
This bike is fantastic fun to ride - it has thoroughly modern long, low and slack geometry, and is extremely composed when the going gets rough. The BOS suspension is beyond compare. I have yet to ride any air sprung system that compares, and I’ve pretty much ridden all the big players.
Like a lot of Orange bikes it also manages to remain playful and “poppy”. As many reviews have said before, Orange seem to generate speed from trail features, undulations roots etc. However, I’m now a 50 year old trail bimbler so it hasn’t been used anywhere near its potential.
