Kona Bicycles' Parent Company Appoints New CFO, Intends to Sell Brand
The Kona Unit & Karma Sutra (U)LTD were pretty competitive in their class. The (U)LTD cost less than the comparable Salsa Fargo & Cotic Cascade. Not many rigid(sus or not sus corrected) steel MTBs like the Unit for under $1500. Plus, I hear it rides nice & it has some mud clearance with 29x2.6 tires, great for bikepacking.

Even if they just keep the Honzo & Process & bikepacking Unit open that would be cool as those names have good Karma in the market.

Kona Unit is also a great bike & history. Kona just needs to offer a version with a 110mm fork that it's corrected for. Good for those who just want to ride fire roads & xc trails.

@dcaf: I honestly didn't notice too much of a performance difference on road & off road with the Thunder Burt 29x2.1 lite casing vs the similar weight Panaracer GK SK+ 43mm. Thunder Burt in a 44-46mm would be popular gravel tire if they offered it.

I'd read/watch that. I'd also compare it to the Schwable Thunder Burt & Racing Ralph & the updated Vittoria Peyote & Terreno XC(or even the 2.1/53mm gravel casing) aforementioned.

@EdSawyer: Those light skin TBs were great when you didn't puncture. I got a puncture on the road home from dirt ride. Had to later patch it as I only had the tire for a month & it had just gone off the market.

Review: Bontrager G5 Team Issue Tires
Surly fat tires are suppose to be pretty good as are tires from their sister brand Teravail. Trek has their tire brand, does Donnelly(offers only CX & XC tires.) A few brands have Panaracer making their tires, but those are mostly touring & gravel tires.
