Tom Van Steenbergen Broke Hip Sockets Into Multiple Pieces, Femur, Lower Vertebrae & Shoulder in Red Bull Rampage Crash
@Billjohn6: I think the difference is the pressure on live TV with so many watching leads to bad decisions. If I see someone try a trick because they want to and they get hurt doing what they love, so be it. We all love a dangerous sport right? But this format makes you feel like a group of friends that pressures a buddy to try something that they might have skipped only to watch them get mangled.

I purchased a new 2021 Rock Shox Super Delux Ultimate 210x55 for my Ibis Ripmo AF and was psyched to install it. Only problem is it was a bearing mount. Turns out I need a standard eyelet for the Ripmo. If you are comfortable working on RockShox shocks the part to convert it is only ~$50. I have never worked on them, and I didn't want to screw up a brand new shock so I was going to use the local LBS. However, between the cost (parts and labor) and the time (local shop backed up for weeks), so I just picked up a lightly used Topaz for my Ripmo. My loss could be your gain, as this is a great opportunity to get a new in-box Super Deluxe Ultimate at a great price. Perfect for upgrading a SantaCruz, Transition or similar bikes that use the bearing mount. Price is firm, no lowball offers, please.

The Pinkbike Podcast: Episode 81 - You've Got Questions, We've (Maybe) Got Answers
Question: You might need to ask a friend about this one, but what rear shock would you recommend to a heavier rider? I am 230 and ride a ripmo AF and run the Topaz in the middle "trail position" even at bike parks. I recently sent the Topaz to be custom-tuned by DVO and hope that optimizes the shock to work better for my weight. Are there shocks that are known to support heavier riders better? It seems to me that the Fox VVT technology is promising in this regard? (or maybe I am reading too much into Fox's marketing?) Also what bike upgrades would you recommend for a heavier rider. For me, larger brake rotors are the things that made the biggest difference and I am hoping to add custom tuning the rear shock to that list.
