Thanks for your comment and concern. Rest assured we don’t disregard perfectly good components here at Park Tool. For the sake of filming we often stage the misuse of components by using already old and broken components as stand ins for demonstration purposes. For this video Calvin was using the bin to make a visual statement about how others should commit to converting to a one by system. Like the old joke says, “throw it in the trash”. It was a video element used to illustrate that joke, but I see how you could have thought otherwise. Those components were immediately removed from the staged trash bin and put back on the Salsa bike. In fact, you will most likely see that same green bike with those components in several existing Park Tool videos and many more in the future. Thanks for your concern, sorry if you were offended.
