@vinay: if we follow the logic far enough that speed differential is dangerous; then you’re arguing against bikes in general. The speed differential between hikers and bikes is a lot more than MTB and eMTB. 💡

Trek Voluntarily Imposes E-Bike Speed Limits
Trek’s core mission is to sell more bikes. This foolish and pointless move is on the wrong side of that goal. Perhaps the most stupid part is trail access is expanding greatly right now. This is a solution in search of a problem.

PNW Components Issues Voluntary Recall for Loam Pedal Gen 2
@justanotherusername: Bent and cracked aren't mutually exclusive. I'm not sure it wasn't cracked as I didn't disassemble and inspect. It was definitely bent though.
