Counterpoint: Do We Really Need E-Bikes?
As an injured / disabled mountain biker that can't ride anymore without the aid of gravity and a shuttle, I'm loving the recent availability of the ebike. Why should I give up the sport I love simply because someone else doesn't approve of the reasonable assistance now available to me?

Now THAT Was a Bike: 1996 Klein Mantra Pro
I owned two of these over the years, including the chameleon green one pictured in your article Vernon. Your assessment of that bike is spot-on. I don't own the Mantras anymore, but I will forever carry the orthopedic hardware they gave me.

Cane Creek Announces C-Quent Shock
No mention by CC about addressing the widely reported reliability issues that have plagued the dB Inline. I personally have sent 3 back for repair in the past 6 months and witnessed another rider's in lock-down mode just yesterday. Buyer beware.

New Roval Traverse Fattie 650b w/ boost hubs
$399 USDBrand new 2016, take-off mountain bike wheels with boost (new width standard) 148/110 hubs and SRAM XD cassette driver body, never ridden. Came new on my Stumpjumper FSR Comp 6Fattie.
These wheels are essentially brand new and were taken off by the bike shop before leaving the store. There is a small surface scratch on the rim of the rear wheel that occurred at some point in handling that is detailed in the last photo.
