How Much Have Olympic-Winning Mountain Bikes Evolved In the Past 28 Years?
Seems like 2016-2017 was a huge jump in the bike industry for tech. A lot of those bikes are still relevant today, 1x drivetrain, droppers, good modern suspension, etc. Everything after has been a slow evolution and little detail improvements. I still love that Scott frame.

First Ride: the Trek Slash+ Sets a High Bar
I have a Scott lumen with the TQ motor. I absolutely love it. So smooth and quiet. Surely some will complain that hey this is not enough power, but you have to ask yourself what's your objective and where do you ride? I've tuned my lowest setting way down so I work hard to ride it when I'm with friends on non e-bikes. Then if I'm burning out or riding solo I can run higher levels if I choose. It is a motor you have to work harder riding the bike with, and a good high cadence helps as well, but, again, motor-wise, I love the TQ.

First Ride: Maxxis Highroller III Tire - DH Race Ready
The pricing on Maxxis mtb tires is just so wild. $105US for this? After pinch flatting an almost new tire last year I have switched to cheaper options. I can usually find a decent price or sale on specialized tires, and they seem to be great.

Drone Manufacturer DJI Debuts Light & Powerful eMTB Motor - Eurobike 2024
I just wish they would come up with universal standards for Ebike stuff. Different chargers, motor mounting designs, battery tech, etc. We need a USB-C type standard for charging, and something for motor mounts and electronics. Sadly I don't think this will happen anytime soon as everyone wants their own proprietary systems.
