@Buggyr333: Dang I'd have guessed you were 6'4 with stupidly long limbs! Thats really interesting to hear as I'm digging into geometry myself for a custom frame. I've never ventured past 470 reach and 625 ETT, although i'm a little shorter at 5'9 on a good day. My Marinos stack is fairly low but I've been favouring riding klunker bars recently which bring the front end up more in line with your WaltWorks. They also have the effect of making my TT feel a lot shorter as I don't find myself stretched out across the bike anywhere near as much. Cheers for the response and I look forward to seeing the next hardtail

Awesome looking bike! I've been looking at that reach and ST angle trying to work out the effective top tube length... seems like modern geo is pushing the bars further and further out with great results. How tall are you my dude?

Review: Hunt Proven Carbon Wheelset
I've ridden aluminium rims since the huck-to-flat, Sun Rim Double-Wide days. Put a few dings in an aluminium rim - no problem, you can ride that sucker home. When they break you don't have to save up for weeks to buy a new one - plus, the old rim goes in the recycling bin! I've ridden a few carbon rims and have always been totally underwhelmed by them. No notable difference in ride feel... other than that burning thought in the back of my mind of how expensive and potentially catastrophic it might be when the carbon fails. I asked myself why I was using them and couldn't find a good enough answer. Will I shave milliseconds off my Strava time by using carbon rims? Yeah maybe... but who cares? Who really cares about anything? Life is pointless. Anyway aluminium is better.

Field Test: Ghost Riot Trail Full Party - The Mixed Message Machine
The cable management is an awesome idea. Too bad the paintjob looks like something from Toys'R'Us

North Shore Billet Announces New Canadian Made Flat Pedal, The Daemon
Do we really need to know where every single component is sourced? These could be made on the Moon for all I care, as long as the product holds up and the price is reasonable (which at $245CAD or £145 before shipping and fees... it isn't)

Round-Up: 21 Of the Best Mountain Bike Helmets for 2021
I'll give it about 70% balls-to-the-wall effort on the downs if I'm in an open face... I'm sure to hold back a bit for fear of losing control and knocking a few teeth out. Even then, you never know when you might take a spill! We met this kid while out riding in Wales. His group seemed to be following the same trail ours and would often overtake us when we took a break or fixed a flat. We must have ridden 99% of the loop (which consisted of some really nasty techy sections filled with wet roots and rocks) when we finally hit the last bit of easy flat singletrack that linked us back to the trail centre. That's when we spotted the kid in front of us. He'd taken a spill and split his top lip on a rock... My god the image still haunts me to this day! His lip was open all the way up to his nostril and the blood was pouring out like a fountain! AND THIS WAS ON THE FLAT PATH TO THE TRAIL CENTRE! Staying vigilant and knowing when to hold back is probably the best line of defence... otherwise, I can see myself having to wear a full face absolutely everywhere!
