Thought Experiment: How Good Could e-Bikes Get?
@chrisclifford: Further and longer is relative to effort, as is the distance you can ride. If you are focused solely on distance, however, I definitely don't recommend an e-bike. Road bikes and skin suits are more your speed.

Thought Experiment: How Good Could e-Bikes Get?
@jayacheess: If you have a lazy mindset the e-bike will exploit that. But that's not a knock on the e-bike, that's a knock on the rider! Same applies to the analog bike. If you are a lazy rider it doesn't matter what bike you are on.

Thought Experiment: How Good Could e-Bikes Get?
@chrisclifford: Put a runner, an analog bike rider and an e-bike rider on the same trail and have them go *max* effort until they can't anymore. In terms of most distance covered, what order do you think they finish ;)
Your range is relative to your effort no matter what the exercise vessel is.
And if you don't believe an e-bike is a good fitness tool I have a challenge for you. Take an e-bike to your local lunch loop (10-15 miles) and go max effort on it to see how fast you can finish it. Guarantee you leave that ride with a refreshed outlook on e-bikes.
