I would also guess that most people haven't experienced a lot of other brakes to know that there are other way better options. I didn't realize how much better the Hayes Dominions that I now use are until I tried them.

@WasatchEnduro: Sounds like the Chainstay length is built into the front triangle not the rear triangle.
"To reduce redundancy, the rear center lengths are altered by moving the bottom bracket position fore and aft, since the geometry of the front triangle changes at other points."

@8a71b4: what's ridiculous is that the E-bikes are all made by mountain bike manufacturers. It's like specialized makes a bunch of regular bikes and several e-bikes. Makes sense for this website to review all the product offerings from one of the biggest mountain bike brands.

I think we all can agree that the intent of your comment was to imply that shimano is putting more effort and or resources into this R and D project that should be going into "getting their drivetrain and brake parts to retailers" I only pointed out the folly of your statement and the lack of understanding that it shows.

it's almost like the R and D department is separate from the manufacturing department. But I'm sure those two racers can start boxing up and shipping parts to retailers 1-2 days a week. Heck, get the engineers to start running the manufacturing machines. Maybe throw in a marketing team to run the assembly lines.
