The Explainer: What's the Deal with Linkage Forks?
Interesting how the collective can argue about squat (in every sense of the word) for 15 years on rear suspension design. When the same rules are applied to the front of the bike nearly everyone freaks out. Linkage forks make a ton of sense if the travels are kept in the range where the levers can produce an axle path that works. As long as you try to adapt to a frame designed around the head tube for a telly you will struggle. The guys doing the chassis approach will fare better.

Rest in Peace: The Rise & Fall of Interbike
I had one of those '10x10' companies back in the Interbike heyday in the 90's. We would scramble to get together some sort of booth to show our wares, pay the fees to Interbike, the lodging, and the meals for four people then lug the stuff over to Vegas for three days. You were located in the virtual basement and had to hope that some dealer or journo would come by to talk to you. Of course no dealer would commit to stock any of your stuff as the big boys sucked up all the dollars. It was the promise of a pic in Mountain Bike Action that made it worthwhile. After a few years it just became defense spending so that people knew you were in business. What we needed was actual riders coming by, not dealers and Interbike was strict. MTBR really changed the game as now average Joe could see into the booths and going to the show became a waste of time. Why not just eliminate the middle man? Had some great times though. Got to see old friends and compare notes. Hit the titty bars.....all the trappings of Vegas that seem so pointless at my advanced age now.

Opinion: Great Rides Don't Always Have Happy Endings
Trump and Zinke are pair of absolute shit heads. Leave the Grand Staircase and the Bears Ears alone. You are only going to get one shot at it if you screw them up. Bravo for Patagonia, I am customer for life.

Niner Files for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy with Pending Sale to Colorado Investment Group
Speaking from some experience here.... Niner is drowning and looking for someone to bail them out. Investors come in and see that Niner is drowning and look at the debt they are going to have to assume which is a deal breaker. The suggest that Niner declare Chapter 11 to have all the existing creditors take the loss. You can imagine some factory in China taking the brunt of it. The bankruptcy court wipes the debt off and the new guys come in with a brand that needs some slick PR to tell future customers that everything will be alright. Hence this article.

Trek Session 9.9 DH 27.5 - Review
Hold on. Trumps promise of bringing jobs back to Wisconsin didn't include preventing Trek from offshoring the Session? The big (and Yuugely sarcastic) news is the bike is only 8k now!

2017 Kona Hei Hei Trail - First Ride
2.67 degrees over 17' is .800" of deflection. I would imagine the stays contribute quite a bit of stiffness to the spring rate.
