The 2016 4X ProTour season begins this weekend at Winterberg, Germany as a feature event during the Dirt Masters festival. With fantastic tracks and riders travelling from all over the World, this year's 4X ProTour looks like it is set to be another fantastic chapter in the 4X story.

We are very excited to announce that Pinkbike will again be our media partner for the 2016 4X ProTour and that Lars Veenstra will be our official film producer delivering content to Pinkbike throughout race weekends. In addition to Lars, we will be using some new videographers too, which we are really excited about.

"Having Pinkbike and Lars onboard for the 2016 4X ProTour is fantastic news for the series and the riders as his films always excite the imagination of the viewers," said 4X ProTour co-organiser, Chris Roberts.

Lars added: "I've been at many 4X races over the years, among others the 2013 Worlds where Joost Wichman finally won the Rainbow Jersey in spectacular fashion, and the crazy / awesome event that is JBC 4X Revelations in the Czech Republic. Needless to say, I'm excited to work together with Pinkbike and the 4X Pro Tour this year to help bring 4X racing into the homes of all the fans."

 Looks like a great event,

"Round 1 May 7th Papendal, The Netherlands."
Did that happen?

Can't find anything about that. The track is at the olympic training facility, currently shaped like the olympic BMX track in Brazil. I doubt they get to loosen that one up to turn it into a real 4X track, not to mention it's not going to have sufficient vertical drop. I think it was probably a mistake and Winterberg is going to be the first one. 4xprotour.com doesn't mention results from Papendal either.

Does this mean we can watch proper coverage instead of Boom Boom Beaumont having to bust his balls racing, organising events and filming? I love 4X i may have said it before but it needs more airtime, shorter tracks mean more exciting closer racing.
