Shimano’s Trail Born Fund is Pushing MTB Projects Forward Worldwide - Sea Otter 2025
California isn’t anti bike as a whole. It’s just that much of the land management is apprehensive to develop resources for modern mountain biking.

Navigating the Tensions: NSMBA, Metro Vancouver, & the Growing Pains of Mountain Biking
@stephanepelletier: Please more of this. The amount of trail politics that is reported on by pinkbike and the industry as a whole is pathetic especially when the entire sport relies on trails. And in particular a huge amount relies on unsanctioned trails.

Navigating the Tensions: NSMBA, Metro Vancouver, & the Growing Pains of Mountain Biking
Whether or not they care is beside the point. As a geologist who works on large environmental remediation projects. Trails are not a drop in the bucket of water of humans impact on the environment. That is nonsense. Human powered, even motor assisted recreational activities such as mountain biking don’t do a damn thing.
Perhaps getting people out into nature, connecting with it has a positive impact on the environment? We shouldn’t default to how MTB hurts the environment. I think that it overall inspires me to reduce my impact in order to protect the resources I love so much.
