Welsh Gravity Enduro Mash Up series 2016

Wouldn’t it be great to have another chance to go faster, get that corner right or hit that line you missed?… now you can with the Mash Up format! Stages are live timed for 5 hours giving you ample time to do as many runs as you like and get timed for each one. You can even have your time texted to you after every run (optional). You can race the stages in any order you like but you must complete every run, NO sectioning! The first Mash Up race of 2016 will return to it’s origins at Afan Forest, Glyncorrwyg where we will have 4 timed stages for you to indulge in… check out the rest of the series venues and dates on the website.

• One day format
• 3 stages for each round
• Race all 3 stages as many times as you want, in ANY order you want
• Your best time from each stage counts for the overall results
• Live Transponder timing to so you can check your progress after each run (subject to network)
• Optional live text service for your results (cost TBC)
• All stages will be open for 5 hours from 10:00-15:00
• Best cumulative stage times win
• Prize for fastest time on each stage from The Mudhugger

This year we will be having 4 women categories to bring it in line with the men and make it more fun! Elite categories will remain so if you were winning your category in 2015 then move to elite and let someone else have a go at the top step! This is for male and female categories.

Gives poeple a chance of a result even if they get a puncture or other mechanical. Seems fair.

What do people think of this format has anyone raced this format before??? I like the sound of it but my mates don't???

I rode the original Kona Mash Ups at Glyncorrwg back in 2008 and 2009. Pretty much the exact same format. The format works really well if you've got the energy to repeat each stage a few times but they had massive problems with getting the timing working consistently previously. Hopefully they've sorted it out for these new events!

Yeah, I raced the Kona Mash Up's at Afan back then. Great format and really enjoyed it (despite being on a DH bike!). Shame the timing never really worked properly like Dave said.
