Interview: Scott Beaumont on the Future of 4X & the UK Race Scene
@conoat: I'd argue the other way and say - The companies with decades of sales figures and data are saying they do.

First Look: 2022 Mondraker Summum Carbon Comes with Integrated Telemetry
@SuperHighBeam: I can understand how it seems backwards, there's a decent article here on bike trail: http://dclxvi.org/chunk/tech/trail/ I've gone from a short offset to longer offset fork on DH bike, whilst the steering definitely felt different, it wasn't huge. I think the challenge with understanding bicycle geometry is that adjusting one thing affects others. I see your point about XC Vs DH bikes with offset, however adjusting the stem has other effects not related to steering, eg. Pushing your weight forward making it easier to keep the front wheel down on steep climbs.

First Look: 2022 Mondraker Summum Carbon Comes with Integrated Telemetry
@SuperHighBeam: here's another older article from Seb https://www.bikeradar.com/features/pushing-the-limits-of-fork-offset-an-experiment/ "Higher trail means greater stability and lazier, slower steering. Shorter offset or a slacker head angle results in more trail (slower steering); longer offset or a steeper head angle reduces trail, quickening the steering response." And another from Cotic: https://www.cotic.co.uk/news/2019/forkoffset "51mm offset reduces the trail which makes the handling quicker and lighter around the straight ahead. This makes the bike feel nice and easy and responsive flicking between shallow turns, like down a flow trail. " "Short / 42 or 44mm offset increases the trail, which makes the handling slower and more stable, which gives a slightly heavier feel around the straight ahead. "

@SuperHighBeam: shorter offset (so 44mm) is less twitchy as it increases trail. Longer offset (56mm for example) does the opposite and makes steering faster.

@TannerValhouli: isn't shorter offset more stable?

Serious question, what don't you like? For me on mobile (in portrait) the site looks great, images full width with the text fitting in underneath. How would an app improve this?

First Look: Hope's New XCR Brake Sneaks Under 200g
For me, mountain bike parts "best in class" starts at: "does it make it out of warranty period without breaking?". So much stuff fails this basic test. Hope stuff is massively reliable, easily serviced and works well enough, that I'll take a slight performance hit if it means less time off the bike and less environmental wastage due to broken tat.

Fox DPX2 Performance Elite 185x55

$300 GBP
2021 Fox DPX2 Performance Elite 185x55 Trunnion mount This shock was taken off a brand new frame (Banshee Spitfire V3) and has only been bounced around on in my garage to make sure it worked. As such it is brand new unused, but tested so all the dials and settings work and it holds air fine. Features: 2 Position lever, open and firm for climbing Low Speed Compression adjustment - 10 clicks via 3mm allen key (lots of DPX2s don't have this feature) Rebound Adjustment https://www.ridefox.com/family.php?m=bike&family=dpx2 This is essentially the same as the Factory model, but black (which looks better IMO) and only available as OEM as far as I know. Lower mounting bushings included, but you'll obviously need to check if they are correct for your frame. If you want any more photos or questions just drop me a message. Will post in UK or collection near Blandford in Dorset.
