[UPDATED] Final Elite XC Results & Overall Standings from the Araxá XC World Cup 2024
@hohmskullkrishten: For him to race it this year, he would have had to leave Brazil after World Cup Round 1 and return to Brazil for World Cup Round 2 one day after Fuego XL. Two rounds of World Cup one week apart, with Fuego XL, an entirely different race format and on a different continent, in the middle? It's not that Fuego XL isn't a high level race (although it sure isn't a World Cup), its that that it would make zero sense logistically.

Review: Yeti's Back in the XC Game With the 2024 ASR
The prices per build for this bike are outrageous. You build an XC bike you have to expect ppl to want to race it. Even by the $8600 price point build you still have aluminum wheels? Who is going to be buying that? Pass.

Velo Digest: A One Gram Bike Lock, Cursed Courses, & The Most Underrated Racer of the Season
@cartersheley1: He raced the XC World Cup circuit before he left to do the gravel/lifetime thing. I don't think he was particularly competitive, but all this endurance work could've helped him level up his overall fitness so who knows.

Elite XC Results from the Glentress XC World Champs 2023
Would have been nice if UCI didn't institute this rule change. Did it change the outcome? Possibly, maybe only have reversed positions 1 and 2. In any case I don't think we have any convincing evidence that MVDP was actually directly responsible. It's also pretty ridiculous how many people in this comment section are forgetting what an incredible MTB and CX racer he is. He's just been a bit distracted with winning races that are 10x harder than any mountain bike race.

[Updated] XC Start List: Mont-Sainte-Anne XC World Cup 2022
@Starch-Anton: His technical skills are way off..? Are you joking? That's absolutely not how it works. You don't win that many cyclocross races by being bad at bike handling. Holy shit.

[Updated] XC Start List: Mont-Sainte-Anne XC World Cup 2022
@Shredocalypse69: For one, there are roadies that can do repeated v02 max efforts for 75 min and we know that because they race mtb and beat the mtb racers (VDP, Pidcock). There are also more of those guys than we probably realize. Certainly WVA could win an XCO world cup if he wanted to - his CX and road explosiveness indicate that. Two, I think theres a lot more repeated vo2 max in road than many realize. Strade Bianche, Tour of Flanders, any road race with punchy repeated shitty climbs force vo2 max efforts. The roadies put up absurd numbers on those repeated climbs after having raced for 3-5 hours. I think they train for max efforts too..

@MDW83: And yet MTB guys will be like "rOaDieS arE wEaK" and they race 50 some odd races per year (maybe even sprinkling in the MTB).
