@rockchomper: This is the Chinese way, like display bikes with 30 spacers under the stem and uncut steerers. Full suspension 29" enduro bikes with 2.1" Commuter tyres. :D

Looks like that's some sanded and bonded carbon rear triangle, not a wrap. Maybe getting layup /flexibility right.
