It seems to me that people in this thread are missing the point comparing downhill cranks with a lifetime warranty to XT cranks which are not intended for downhill and only have a two year warranty. Shimano has a downhill groupset and it's called Saint. You all should look up the weight on those if you want to make a fair comparison.

Pinkbike Poll: What's Your Ideal Wheel Size for a Modern Trail or Enduro Bike?
I don't have any MX experience but I do have even seat time between 27.5ers and 29ers. As the 29" rear rolls over things so well on the majority of my riding I'll take the minor buzz here and there. But if I was consistently riding rowdier trails I'm sure I'd consider that option.

@hughbm: I think the idea is that there really aren't two many wheel size options out there these days, so if it isn't dual 29" or MX, it's dual 27.5 by a process of elimination.
