First Look: The AL Works Gradient 30 is Wheel Size-Fluid
Hey, I want to say to all that I fully apologize about the AI edited pics. I thought I was making it nicer, only to ruin it all. 100% my fault and I learnt my lesson. I've seen to it, and with the help of Jessie-May, that all the pics have now been (or on the verge of being) reverted to fully original (though sh*tty). That is also true for the website.
Since I'm at it, I want to give a bit more context. The prototype frame is here with me, and I'm riding it with great pleasure, at my amateur level. And I encourage anyone to come and try it if they're curious.
I want to say this project is about passion for me. I don't expect to make living money out of it. For this, I have my full time job (that I enjoy as well to be fair). The goal is to see my design out there, ridden (hopefully) happily by people.
If the project doesn't go any further, that's also ok. At least I tried, and won't have any regrets.
I wasn't expecting to see that kind of backlash over the pics, and again, I want to reiterate that I'm sorry.
Happy to meet everyone on the trails.

First Look: The AL Works Gradient 30 is Wheel Size-Fluid
@tkrug: Hey, I'm the engineer behind the frame design. Sorry for the AI edited pic with the modified studio shoot background. This is a small business I am trying to setup, with the mere idea to propose a nice frame with specific features I like at a nice price. I'm no professional in digital marketing, and the website is entirely made by myself.
That said, I'm having a professional photoshoot very soon, and will update that pic along the way.
In the meantime, I'm happy to arrange a test session for anyone that's curious to ride the bike. And happy to discuss with anyone.
Cheers!

Kali’s New Kru Full Face Helmet Has a Titanium Chin Bar, & It Looks... Different
Hmm twist-off beer caps are like screw-top wines: a hint of dubious provenance and a promise of disappointment.

Alyssa Secreto Hit By Car During Tour Divide, Sustains Severe Injuries
Awful accident with dreadful consequences. I hope she heals up well. It also angers me whenever I see a fundraiser for something that should never be a matter of money. Countries relying on such deficient healthcare will never be able to catch up with the most advanced nations if they do not care about their citizens' well-being...

Review: 2026 Propain Tyee Trail - Does Less Travel Really Make a Difference?
I had a technical question about one of their frames, so I called support. The guy didn’t know offhand but said he’d check with engineering. He called me back less than an hour later with the answer. Left a great impression.

SRAM's Updated Ochain is More Durable and Less Expensive
@wburnes: The STFU does not help with pedal kickback, nor is it intended to. It only prevents chain slap. Even though both are effective, they serve completely different purposes.

How to Watch the 2026 Mountain Bike World Cups
@Clemounet: Is this what the asterisk stands for (delayed) ? I followed most of last season on L’Équipe (I have access to the free French channels), and it was usually broadcast live. Do you know if that's the case this time ?

612 Parts Release Die Bremse RS Brakes
The difference in calliper piston size does not mean anything. Bigger is not better, it's merely a design parameter. Overall power and modulation depend on the complete design. Besides, the Cura are cast and produced at scale, the 612 are machined, boutique brakes. They sit at complete opposite ends of the spectrum, it's a relief they don't compare in price tbh...

Review: Shimano XTR 9220 Brakes - Consistency is Key
It reads on the bottle: "If ingested, may cause vomiting or diarrhea". So yeah, that checks out, nothing worse than a Budweiser.

Frameworks Announces 2026 Enduro & DH Bikes
I get that an idler has its downsides, but looking at those axle paths, I’d definitely lift the main pivot and throw in the idler.
I do appreciate Frameworks being so open about their suspension design though.
