Patrol Mountain Unveils Complete DJ Line Up With 20', 24' & 26' Options
@KolaPanda:
Paul has no suitable Hub on offer, Onyx, Qvist and Profile are 500 $ or more - don't see the fairly wide spread on pricepoint here.

Patrol Mountain Unveils Complete DJ Line Up With 20', 24' & 26' Options
@Larkey1:
That's not the point here. For a dirtjump or DH wheel you want an even and shallow spoke bracing angle for a maximum of stiffness. To achive that you need equal distance between the hub centerline and both flanges and a freehub body as short as possible aka not full size HG or XD.

First Look: Ratio Technology's New Direct-Mount Mechanical Derailleur
Fair question! In my experience every crash that seriously bend the hanger the derailleur was fucked aswell. So far I have never come across a UDH compatible rear dropout / frame that was damaged as a result of a crashed direct mount derailleur. For me direct mount gets rid of a unnecessary part without a drawback, at least for mtb and gravel. On roadbikes a totally see the point of wider chainstays/dropouts with UDH resulting in potential contact with the heel of the shoe.
