Aug 22, 2015Black Marino 24" Trials Bike
$300 GBPHello All,
Bike rides really well, been well maintained, and kept indoors since I have owned it. I am after £300 for the bike.
If you are interested, let me know. I have been in this sport for a very long time and been through loads of parts over the years, I know this is a pretty bomb proof set up, but I ride less and less so have found I don't really need a bike of this style any more.
I have just resprayed the frame for a buyer who has now pulled out, so whoever gets this gets a nice fresh paint job too.
Spec includes:
Marino Frame: Original fourplay Geometry, 4 bolt
Fourplay forks
Inspired high rise bars. Trialtech Foam grips
ISIS Middleburns
DMR pedals
Trialtech Bottom Bracket
Gusset I piece saddle and tube, machined to fit frame.
System EX stem. (Short and steep)
Superstar components super light headset. Carbon Spacers.
Front and rear inspired rims, no grinds, hope hubs (pro2t) and (Barely used) Danny's Continental tyres.
Optional spoke tensioner, Currently running a setup that does not require one, but I can make one for you no problem.
Cheers Ash

Dec 6, 2014Commencal MiniDH Supreme
$650 GBPFrame: Commencal Mini DH Supreme, Adjustable Head Angle, 6” Travel
Shock: Fox DHX 4.0, recent service, Barely ridden since.
Forks: Marzocchi All Mountain 4, 20mm Bolt through, recent service, barely ridden since. 6” Travel
Stem: Truvative Hussefelt
Handle Bars: Da Bomb DH, Anodised Blue and Striped
Front Hub: Commencal standard, could do with new bearings.
Front Rim: Sun Single Track, 31mm width
Front Tyre: Maxxis Minion Front dual ply 2.5”
Front Brake: Hope M4 moto lever, 200mm red floating saw rotor, Goodridge Hosing
Rear Hub: Commencal standard, one disc bolt hole unusable. Not been a problem.
Rear Rim: Sun Single Track, 31mm width
Rear Tyre: Maxxis Highroller dual ply 2.5”
Rear Brake: Hope Tech 2 M4, 200mm red floating saw rotor, Goodridge Hosing
Rear Gear Shifter: Sram X5, chosen as gear guide wraps around bar, better looks and function than X7 IMO
Rear Gear Derailleur: Sram X7
Rear cogs: Sram 9 speed
Gear Cable: Full cable outer mounted to frame using special adapters, can be used normally, mounts have not been drilled out. Done to keep shifting very consistent regardless of conditions.
Cranks: Raceface Ride DH
Front Cog: Hope 32 tooth (Red), Can also have a free 36 tooth (Black) Raceface Cog
Chain Device: Superstar components Plasma
This is a very capable bike at a bargin price. The adjustable head angle means that if you change the stem it is capable of both uphill and downhill riding, hence the two cog sizes. I have used this for mostly all mountain style riding. The brakes are immense, be warned.
Condition of the bike is pretty good, has a few paint chips, but no dents or cracks. My plan with the paint was to have the frame powder coated white, but I have lost interest in the sport as there is very little for me to ride locally and I unfortunately don’t have the time any more. Bike has been well loved; I have worked in bike shops for many years so you can be assured that everything works well.
Please check all pictures, for some reason the red looks very orange in most of the photos, the default photo is how the colour looks in the flesh.
I am looking for £650 collected ONO.
Cheers, Ash

Enduro and the Politics of Practice
I don't understand the problem, walk the course like a trials rider would? that way you aren't blind, you know what is coming up, but you also haven't practised. Also, in regards to the funding, it can be just as useful to ride a similar terrain, doesn't have to be that specific trail. So keep the rest of the park open for training and just shut off that trail until competition day? I'm sure this venue will have other trails, I am aware that enduro covers ALOT of ground.
Another way to differentiate the groups would to be have a practised group, and a blind group. then maybe some weird super final on a single blind trail no one has ridden to prove a real winner?
