The SwitchGrade Will Allow Riders to Change Their Saddle Angle on the Fly
isnt the problem with constantly loosening and tightening fastener hardware the fatigue you place on them from doing so? ideally, you'd set up the seat correctly on any post and not want to constantly tighten and loosen the hardware. this allows the hardware to stay put, and the frequent adjustments happen on a mechanism designed for that purpose? EDIT: article w/ analysis about the dangers of over-torque failure on thompson seatposts http://cozybeehive.blogspot.com/2009/04/broken-thomson-seatposts-overtightening.html

$160,000 Worth of Unique, Historical Bikes Stolen in Specialized Break In
@TotalAmateur: I think you have to really understand the historical here. The FS at first had a no-burn policy for forests. This turned out to be wrong. We ended up with massive fire loads in many forests. Climate change, whether by drought or by warmer conditions and pine beetles flourishing, then became the gasoline poured on political mistakes. Climate change does not cause the million acre fires we are seeing; it exacerbates them. Climate change is also not responsible for the cost of the fires; humans did that by overloading California forests with housing and property. We will have worse fires because of Climate change + forest management practices all through the 20th century. Most of the FS budget already goes to fighting fires. Without serious cash, they can't undertake the "clean up" practices which you want to see. So additional, future political failures will continue to exacerbate past, historical ones. that sum up your points? If so, we agree. If not, I can't help ya.

@TotalAmateur: I made an assumption based on your vague-ness. If i was wrong, cool. thats the thing about being intelligent. you are free to change your stance on things as new evidence emerges.

@Cyberhatter: This is it. We have an messed up way to talk about crime. petty theft IS 100,000 in this country. Specialized is insured. Sucks for the historical relevancy. Hope they recover them. But the real theft in California should be calculated in the tens of millions. Its the money that is taken from the public and given as incentives to business development. corporate welfare is the real crime.

@audeo03: not to mention human encroachment into forests, pushing further and further back into delicate woodlands to build their giant homes in the bucolic wilderness, etc. etc. The old "rake the forest" line is surprising to see here. Like, does any actual rider believe that this is healthy for the forest or desirable? Maybe if you've never ridden outside of a berm park?
