Video: 7 Bike Checks with XXL Shredders
At 6'7" I´ve ridden many different bikes in the last 20 years. Recently I have been sizing down to a size L frame, 495 reach, 450 chainstay and 1275 wheelbase. It just depends how you ride and what kind of trails you ride. A bike with 500+ reach, slack headtube angle and a wheelbase above 1300 feels stable, but imho boring and it just doesn`t fit most trails i like to ride. Many long reach bikes have a pretty bad front/rear center balance which results in lack of grip on the front. My current bike is so much more fun to ride, I can throw it around, shralp corners, simply it is much more playful and I still can ride fast without feeling twitchy.
