Big Wheels, Big Claims: 32" Wheels Are Actually Faster (According to Science)
@SonofBovril: Seems a lot a people are misinterpreting the results. Sure, competitive athletes gain 1-2%, but in the "2017: 29ers are faster for recreational riders" study, recreational riders gained a significant 5%. If you're a technically skilled competitive athlete, getting over a 2inch root on a 26" or 29" makes no difference. But for an over-weight, unskilled rider who can't lift the front wheel. Roll-over on a 29" makes a massive difference.
In 20 years when I'm a fat old pensioner, I want 32" wheels and an e-MTB please.
