Feb 5, 2014Transition Trail or Park - RockShox Argyle 409 - Medium
$550 USDThe selling of this bike ends a five-year love affair with the best dirt jump and urban freeride frame I have ever had. This bike has been trimmed down to have everything you need for dirt jumping and urban freeride, with nothing extra that you don't need. It is rock-solid and a super-fun cockpit to jump, thrash and whatever else you can think of. You can manual for days and jump over your house if your skills will allow! However, the frame is very adaptable as you can slap derailleurs on and go trail riding. The frame has horizontal dropouts, but also has a derailleur hanger and the cable mounts for both derailleurs. The bike is being sold without pedals as shown in the photo.
General info on the build:
Frame: Transition Trail or Park, size Medium, steel, metallic baby blue paint job, solid 10mm Azonic through-axle in rear
Fork: RockShox Argyle 409, steel stanchions, magnesium lowers, Punish Mint paint, 100mm travel shimmed to 80mm at the LBS, adjustable air spring preload, rebound, compression, and flood gate (Mission Control damper), Maxle 360 20mm axle
Handlebar: Specialized Demo DH bar
Stem: Spank Spike stem
Grips: Sette lock-on grips
Headset: Crank Bros Sage freeride headset
Wheelset: Azonic Outlaws, 26 inch
Drivetrain: Deity Vendetta II crankset with Termite sprocket in front and Gusset single-speed converted rear cassete
Seat: SDG I-Beam iSky
Seatpost: SDG I-Beam 30.0 mm, uncut and full length so you can raise the seat and go trail riding
Rear brake: Avid Juicy Seven hydraulic disc, plenty of length in the cable for barspins!
Tires: Maxxis Holy Roller 2.0 front and rear
Chain: Heavy-duty KMC BMX-style chain
I'll also include the RockShox low-volume air pump that came with the fork so that you can adjust it to your heart's desire.
Scratches and blemishes:
See the images. This bike has been ridden and loved for many years, and shows all the normal signs of use. Maintenance on the fork has been kept up and the adjustments work great. Small scratches on the top tube from barspins, scratches on the general outside parts of the frame from slapping the tail into trash cans and such, scratches on the bottom bracket shell from dropping the chain, etc. The decals have been removed from the fork lowers, and the writing has rubbed off of the crank arm a bit from my shoes. The rear wheel has two silver spokes from replacing bent ones, as well as a little bit of spray paint on the rim and tire (see the pictures). The rear tire is a bit worn down, but it functions great on both dirt and pavement.
Payment by PayPal only. Shipping to the lower 48 will probably run you about $80-90 depending on where you live.
