It's too bad Specialized is ruining what otherwise would have been a totally net positive add to the ebike world with the Class 3 designation. They also have blocked any remotely negative comments on their social medical press release. Class 3 undermines everything that all, and I mean all ALL, MOUNTAIN BIKE ADVOCACY groups have been selling and collectively working working towards. The only way to give a bigger middle finger to the industry would be if they added a freaking throttle to the thing. It would have been so easy to leave it as an option for folks who are ok with a little extra weight, but want lots of power and range. As an industry, we told land managers (private and public), don't worry, Class 1 limits what can be ridden on these trails. Apparently one of the biggest and apparently greediest companies could follow that simple concept.
