EWS racers only have to race the stage once, and they're alone on the course... The XCO racers have to go around 6-8 times, and have the the rest of the racers with them, so knowing every little detail about the course is a huge advantage, especially passing lanes.

@mi-bike: If that's the case then why didn't any of the other 11 riders who were in between Nino and the lead group catch up?... Nino passed each of those 11 riders like they were standing still!

The SID 35 doesn't have Brain, only the SID 32, so he's probably using the SID 35 like many other racers... Lots of riders also using the Fox 34 instead of the Fox 32.
