Pinkbike Poll: Do You Care What Your Bike Looks Like?
On the contrary, I think Gamux makes the best-looking DH bikes on the market. They're uniquely severe; purpose-built. It's very appealing and the Dorados complete the look.

This Mini Enduro Bike Grows With Its Rider
That looks like the Seekrun post. Wonder if a wireless dropper is required.

The Death Of Derailleurs? Avinox Announces Motor "Gearbox" - Eurobike 2026
Love them or hate them, in the last five years SRAM has established themselves as the market leader in premium bicycle components. It wasn't an easy path - now they're entering a new phase. I believe this concept is the biggest threat their business will face. Powertrain failed. Interested to see their response.

Shimano Launches Cable-Actuated XT Drivetrain
@lkubica: I think the new GS is misunderstood by consumers and therefore ignored by product managers - I think it SHOULD be for everyone, or most. I keep seeing people say "10-45t" - no, it's now 9-45t; 500% range. Most bikes should be able to accommodate a 30t chainring without ruining the kinematics. A 30x45 low gear is about equal to 32x51, and the 9t is still an effective overdrive. And in return for a 10% reduction in range - NOT a 10% higher low gear, mind you - you get lower weight, better ground clearance front and rear, and a quieter drivetrain. Is "bigger sprocket better" not the only reason to sideline GS? This isn't directed at you - and I have no dog in this fight, as I'm a Linkglide zealot (who gets by just fine with my paltry 454% gear range.)

Shimano Reinvents Deore Group With New Brakes & Cable-Actuated Drivetrain
@vinay: Maybe, maybe not. Deore Di2 doesn't get the 9t/GS option either - perhaps Shimano doesn't see the value in offering two cassette and two cage options at the entry level. If there is XT mechanical in the pipeline, maybe we'll see a 9t mechanical system there.

First Ride: The 2027 Scott Spark RC Keeps the Shock Hidden and Gets Even Lighter
@Km303: lol. Valid point, but I like that they seem to be innovating in serviceability to - at least relative to previous Scotts. They clearly put a lot of thought into the cable routing, and while I've seen whinging about "internal shock", this is now no more internal than lower-link VPP or any other shock-tunnel design. "Would you want your bike to look this clean, IF it wasn't any harder to work on?" I think a lot of riders would say yes. Maybe someday Scott will get there. @dangerholm: what are those mounting points I see under the top tube? They look closer than standard bottle bosses. Is there a proprietary accessory that wasn't mentioned?

First Ride: The 2027 Scott Spark RC Keeps the Shock Hidden and Gets Even Lighter
"Full builds start at a claimed 9.9 kg, whereas the Epic has an 8.5 kg (claimed) Ultralight build." Not a knock on Pinkbike, as they go on to mention the standard S-Works weight, but I want to note that Epic Ultralight ditches all electronics besides the derailleur, has an Air Trak front tire, and uses Trickstuff brakes and carbon spokes. You can save close to a pound just by swapping a Reverb out for a OneUp V3. Both of these bikes can be built sub-20 without much compromise.

First Ride: The 2027 Scott Spark RC Keeps the Shock Hidden and Gets Even Lighter
The second photo makes it look like there's barely any downtube at all, but I just noticed that the cover/door is asymmetrical. The downtube "wall" is way taller on the right side. Still, looks like they're threading a very fine line here.

Am I insane for thinking Scott alone gets a pass on this stuff? It's frustrating when other brands shoehorn in inconveniences for no clear reason, but bikes like the Spark are why Scott exists. You can't really blame them. Riders who can live with it can buy these, and everyone else can enjoy the view. Quite a feat of packaging here.

First Ride: A Lot Has Changed About The New Revel Ranger
The Ripley SL is in the same travel bracket, would be in the low 27s with the same build (at most), and it DOES have frame storage. The price difference is considerable though.
