We Are One Canadian Enduro League

Presented By Leatt

Round 9 - Bromont, QC

October 1st

Words: Canadian Enduro League

Salut, from Bromont, QC, where the first ever We Are One Canadian Enduro Eastern Cup presented by Leatt is set to be the penultimate round of this years Canadian Enduro! The Eastern Cup is going to be the wildest enduro in Eastern Canada and we're stoked to say that we will be racing the 2008 World Cup Downhill course, so grab your best set of tires and get ready to experience the best trails east of the rockies!

Race Preview

Over the years, Bromont has become one of the legendary riding locations in the East. It has a deep history of racing, having held events like the 1992 UCI Mountain Bike World Championships to the 2008 UCI Downhill World Cup. With a playground of 450 acres, the mountain features over 50 trails as well as a host of other resort activities. An eyewatering $111 million dollars has been invested since 2018, and through to 2026. Basically, put Bromont on top of your riding wishlist right this minute.

This weekend, the Eastern Enduro Cup will be decided after 6 stages of racing, nearly 30km, and just over 1700m of climbing, some of which will be chairlift assisted. This weekend's course has roots, it has tech, it has rocks, it has jumps, but most importantly it has the 2008 World Cup track! How freaking cool is that! We can say, without any doubt, that the trails here could well be some of the best of the season. Now we know, we say that about every event, but we're going to say it again.

The stakes have never been higher! This weekend, we'll be dishing out a huge Pro prize purse for the Eastern Enduro Cup title. A Pro win this weekend will take home $750, second place will take $500, and third place $300. How good! But don't worry, we haven't forgotten about everyone else! We have suspension goodies courtesy of Fox Suspension, gear from the epic crew at Leatt, enough lube and cleaner to last a lifetime from WPL, service vouchers from Ion2 Suspension, and so, so much more. But you've got to be in it to win it. On top of everything else, the Red Bull Downtime Stage is back, giving amateur riders a chance to win a VIP ticket to next year's Red Bull Joyride. Get ready to put it all on the line; this prize is well worth it!

If you wanna skip the article and get the goods, jump to our Race Book here where all the information lives!

CNES 2017 Bromont - Andy Vathis
2017 was the last time we visited Bromont. 26" wheels and racing in half shell helmets were still the 'in' thing back then.. how times have changed.

Red Bull Downtime Stage

This season we are stoked to introduce the Red Bull Downtime Stage at select events. The Red Bull Downtime Stage is an integrated special stage within the event, giving riders an extra chance to win some epic prizes! To compete in the Red Bull Downtime Stage, you must be an amateur competitor and fully complete the given race. To be considered eligible for winning the prize, you must also be 18 years or older. The fastest amateur Male and Female rider of the Red Bull Downtime Stage will win one (1) FORB/VIP ticket for Red Bull Joyride 2023/2024, and a unique Red Bull Downtime Stage medal!

For the Eastern Enduro Cup, and the final round of the year, Stage 6 will host the Red Bull Downtime Stage.

Red Bull Downtime Stage Rules:
• You must register and complete the entire CEL event.
• Racers are only eligible to win the prize once. If a racer who has previously won holds the fastest time at a second event, they will forfeit the prize, and the next fastest person will be awarded.
• Racers must be 18 years of age or older at the time of competition.
• This prize has no cash value.
• This prize only includes one (1) FORB/VIP ticket to Red Bull Joyride 2024 in Whistler, BC. No travel, accommodation, or other expenses are covered.
• Racers in the pro categories are excluded from this prize.

McElhanney Stage

We are proud to have McElhanney Ltd. as the official Outdoor Recreation Consultant of the Canadian Enduro League. They offer many trail-related services from trail planning, design, and construction administration, to Section 57 applications. With an even broader list of services such as engineering, geomatics, planning and more. The McElhanney Stage of each race is chosen to highlight a unique experience for riders and often includes unique trail features. This stage will feature more opportunities for racers to get photographed by our media team, so make sure you’re smiling!

For the final race of the year, the McElhanney Stage will be Stage 1. This stage links together a few different sections of trail and will test a rider's creativity as they navigate some classic East Coast tech.

This season has been epic to say the least! Check out the highlights from our Western Enduro Cup event earlier this summer held in Revelstoke, BC.
