Review: 6 Months on SDG's New Tellis Dropper Post
Honestly, most bike parts break after 3-5 months of use. Most droppers are a pain to deal with, they're never working perfect and whenever you have that race or ride that matters the most, that's the time it bonks.... I rode this post for 9 months this year, racing it in Chile, Colombia (see the worst mud ever). Racing is one thing, but I had this post through a season of work - that's days on days of heavy packs, more up/downs than most people will have in years. Here's the GOOD - Only replaced the cable twice - Everything Levy said is on point - NO MAINTENANCE OR ADJUSTING - The seals! Why can't everyone just replicate this? Here's the BAD - The body is a little long. - I put another brand on recently, you really notice how bad they are, and now I need to go buy another SDG... - In bad crashes you may bend the lever body. Work, race, play - If I'm not breaking it in a year, you're never breaking it. ahahhh

Consortium to Buy Amer Sports for 5.2 Billion
@onemind123: Trevor, my comment was really more about > support those that support you > why buy an Enve or some brand that doesn't really re-invest into the people or the sport. They've been supporting the Canadian Enduro Series for a few years now. It's a bummer that you find it 'slimey' when a company actually supports grassroots initiatives in their own backyard - WAO helps me keep the series running by providing prizing to the racers - so when I see a multinational that contributes zero to my riding community, for sure I'm gonna fly the flag for those that do. Look at our series for example, we're pretty much held up by Canadian companies, the last two years we were with MEC, this year with Norco, we have brands like Whistler Performance Lubricants, Kazoom Custom Jerseys, Raceface, WAO - if this article was about lube, jerseys or handlebars, you can bet your poutine I'd be throwing love to Canadian companies that help the industry. It's not slimey, it's recognition for a job well done. Next time one of your buddies complains about his Ford and you chyme in how you're a Chevy guy,

Checkout We Are One, they are manufactured and hand-laid carbon wheels right out of Kamloops, BC Canada. Save some money, buy a better product and support a small team, rather than having your money leak into the pockets of someone who doesn't even ride a bike!

Canadian Enduro Series Announces 2019 Schedule
@GRAV-Intense-Racing-Canada: Alrighty, I'll keep this brief and if you want to discuss further, let's chat on the phone, and for the other racers reading this, we'll have a full schedule and breakout that's easy to follow. LIFT LINE - Last year our event at Pano was NOT in the rain... - We had a big lift line last year because we ran restricted hours on the lift as it was a bonus weekend - For the combined weekend, we have 2 hours of exclusive enduro/dh lift time in the evening. Enduro riders will be heading into the alpine to ride GLD Hopeful, which is about an hour or two return trip, so the lift will not be heavily impacted from enduro riders. - With enduro riders all over the mountain and out of the bike park there will certainly be enough room/time for the DH guys to continually lap the DH course and get their mandatory runs. FRIDAY PRACTICE Lift is open as per regular bike park hours - DH track is closed for 2hours for walking/course inspection - Lift is operational exclusively for DH and Enduro from 6-8pm - Enduro riders will likely opt to head into the Alpine via the Champagne chair, which will spread people amongst the park nicely SATURDAY - DH PRACTICE AND ENDURO RACE - Enduro has three stages outside of the normal bike park - our schedule will be to use the lift early AM - 7AM-11AM when the park is closed to the public (one hour of overlap) > riders in the enduro race will be out of the bike park from about 11am-3/4pm, in which time - DH riders NOT in the enduro can lap the DH course all Saturday long as per a normal DH race. - Enduro riders will complete their mandatory practice run as a) part of the enduro race and b) upon completion of the enduro. - Enduro riders needing seeding will do so after the lift closes to the public between 6-8pm Saturday. SUNDAY DH race will happen as per usual. - Earlier start, lift running only for DH racers until about 9/10am. - Enduro riders will be partying and spectating. DH EVENT TAKING A HIT If anything the Enduro riders are making the biggest sacrifice, unless they travel on Thursday, they'll likely miss a lot of practice, plus they will incur an extra night of accommodation and an additional day off work. The DH schedule largely goes unchanged, it'll be run of the mill, with yeah, some more people to hang out with and party. EXPERIENCE The front loading from you to your team/athletes that the event will be a failure, isn't really good for anyone, the three events you mentioned are somewhat outdated and as I mentioned before there is a lot behind the scenes that we need to do to bring National styled events, so collaborating together cohesively for the betterment of the sport is necessary. I think if you can bring your optimism and insight to the event, try it for 2019, and then we review, that would be amazing. If you'd like to hop on board as part of the planning committee, we'd certainly welcome your experience and insight. Pano and I have a ton of event experience and we value this feedback, undoubtedly we'll make it work, we understand we're asking for riders to be patient with this new format. ACCOMMODATION Some of my best memories racing and travelling to ride bikes have been the stories of meeting friends, camping and sharing some really strange accommodations. Partner up with some friends, look at renting a house, or check out the awesome options in Invermere if the Resort is full, there is so much possibility and I know MTBers we know how to dirtbag it! As Shrek said to Donkey "Change is good".

Canadian Enduro Series Announces 2019 Schedule
@GRAV-Intense-Racing-Canada: Jerrod and Adam, there's so much more happening behind the scenes, maybe best if you give me a call, or wait for us to release more information about the full schedule for that weekend, as I can assure you, we're masters in event planning and it will workout seamlessly. Hopefully you can reiterate the importance of maintaining a positive open attitude to your athletes rather than prefacing a new event as an "Absolute Disaster" before you even attend the event. This event is going to be an amazing festival weekend, we've done multiple events on the same weekend and it's always been very positive.
