U.S. Budget Proposal Includes Plan to Sell 3 Million Acres of Public Land
Map shown on this page didn't look *too* horrible, but when I followed the link to the interactive map its nearly ALL of the forests I grew up in and still use for recreation to this day! F U MAGA!

Ibis Ripley V4S

$2600 USD
Custom Ibis Ripley in excellent and ready-to-ride condition! Full suspension 29'er that is the perfect balance of pedaling efficiency and travel for our NM riding. Frame is carbon fiber, size large, drywall white (looks really nice in person) and has custom vinyl graphics applied (turquoise/bronze) which also act as frame protection. Perfect mechanical shape, nearly perfect paint just a couple tiny chips here and there from debris, not crashes! Front travel is 130mm on a Rockshox Pike Ultimate -- Charger 2.1 damper with HSC/LSC/HSR controls and 42mm offset. Rear travel is 120mm on a Fox DPS Factory shock -- HSC/LSC/HSR controls, 190x45 dimensions. BOTH were just given full rebuilds and have 30 miles of riding on them. All new o-rings, wipers, seals, damper oil, lube, etc. SRAM G2 Ultimate brakes, 4 piston power with posh carbon levers SRAM 1x12, 11-50T GX drivetrain (shifter, derailleur, cassette) SRAM X01 carbon crankset, 32T ring SRAM XX1 chain, nearly new and given a hot wax bath 30 miles ago This frame was designed on the new 55mm chainline and UDH, which makes it compatible with SRAM's new electronic drivetrain or T-type mechanical if you want to upgrade down the road! Oneup v2 dropper, Anvil aluminum bar, Raceface stem/grips, Cane Creek Hellbender headset Wheelset is a DT Swiss m1900 aluminum rim on their 350 hubs, wrapped with Maxxis 29x2.5 Minion DHF and 29x2.35 Forekaster, setup tubeless with Stan's sealant + Shimano XT centerlock discs (180F/160R). If you would like the bike without the wheelset (no rims, tires, disc rotors) I would take $300 off my asking price, but both prices are firm and fair. The wheels and cassette have nearly no miles on them (backups) and much of the other equipment is low mileage or freshly rebuilt.

Revel Bikes to Shut Down Amid Industry Challenges
@flymybike: Hey Lance, I met you recently at BTI -- ended up buying a Revel Ranger frame the next week and CBF has been the best suspension I have ever ridden! I'm fine with aluminum frames, but the 2x water bottles in triangle and more conservative geo just fit my riding better. Makes me wonder which Revel bike was their top seller? Could be a market for shorter travel bike with lots of bosses for carrying gear?

Revel Bikes to Shut Down Amid Industry Challenges
I just bought my first Revel frame and it is so so so nice! CBF is the real deal, their quality is fantastic and I really thought they were making good headway in a market that was already dominated by long-established brands. Sad to see this, I wonder if tariff BS was the final straw that broke their back after Covid caused an extreme shift in consumer buying for cycling.

The Best Bike Racks of Sea Otter 2025
Where are all the Amazon racks? Love mine, all steel, folds up small, secure as any of these (I would not leave a bike alone on some of these...) and best of all -- $175 (Swagman) But it doesn't come in Kashima, not a problem for me since my bike doesn't either!

First Look: Revel Launches 3 New Bikes Including an Enduro & eMTB Model
@haffzies: "For 2025, the Ranger has the same intentions, but the geometry has been modernized. The seat tube angle is now 76-degrees and the head tube angle is knocked back to 65.5 - the same number at the front of the Rascal." That's a long typo! But seems like it is one after all. If they were slacking this model out to introduce a more purebred XC model, the 115mm on this and 130mm on the Rascal would need to go up as well imo. But I wouldn't have put 65.5HTA past them, as it puts it right in line with other big brand "downcountry" geo.

First Look: Revel Launches 3 New Bikes Including an Enduro & eMTB Model
Honestly happy I pulled the trigger on a V2 Ranger -- why does every brand need to keep dropping HTA? Next new trend = we've discovered that for the majority of riders and trails, a steeper HTA rides better!

First Ride: 2025 Pivot Trailcat SL and LT
Interesting. My Intense Primer from 2019 can run 115 or 130mm stock and go to 140mm with a different linkage. And was $4k with GX groupset, DT 1900m wheelset AND an extra ethirtheen carbon wheelset. Bikes sure have come a long way.... in price.

Wolf Tooth Announces Incredibly Small 30cc EnCase Pump
Lol, I have been using a 120mm micro-mini pump for YEARS. Labeled as "Basecamp" brand, model BC751 I think it was from ebay or amazon for $10. Fits schrader or presta too.

The Best Year End & Boxing Day Online Deals for Mountain Bikers
I hope they make it, my last new bike was a 2019 Primer and I am still enjoying it today! The more I look at other bikes versus the one I have, the more I realize how much they got right. Durability and attention to detail have been fantastic, I really have no reason to go shopping for anything new.
