Though I admit it looks a bit lame, I sometimes wear an AM lid on my DH bike. I only have one bike and on smoother more pedally trails is nice to not get so hot. Bring on the negs...

Who cares what kind of helmet he's wearing?? If you're riding trails that don't require full-face protection than why not wear a lighter, more comfortable open-face helmet? Seems pretty logical to me.
