@jever98: So make commuter bikes Class 2 or 3 or 4 or whatever... Or make a class 0 below 1 that's specifically intended for MTB. All I'm saying is the mountain bike world got screwed when lobbyists decided 20mph/750 watts was a good place to set the ground floor.

Should've never allowed Class 1 to be set at 20mph in the first place. People For Bikes already fucked us all on that one though. It's way too fast. Class 1 should've been lower output more like what Europe is doing. IMO it should be very difficult for a casual observer to tell the difference between a Class 1 e-bike rider and a very fit analog rider. Now anyone that can afford it can blow away an Olympic level XC rider on their fancy new "Class 1" e-bike on a climb. Just dumb.

Over 100 Memorial Rides Planned to Honor Alex Pretti
@smith888: I don't know.. How about doing some real police work for starters and focusing on known criminals? Trump spewed a bunch about Somalis committing fraud in MN but instead poured thousands of masked men to roam around the streets as if that's how they're gonna find them. What a joke. To your other point—there are vast industries in the U.S. that are entirely built on cheap labor from people you call illegals. If this country is serious about deporting huge numbers of undocumented people, then we all need to buckle up for a crippling recession and skyrocketing prices. I personally don't think it's worth it. Tighten up the borders, create viable and efficient paths to citizenship, and stop harassing people already here doing the labor that no white Americans want to do.

@smith888: You are incorrect. American LE can ask you for your ID all they want, but unless they have "reasonable suspicion" (in other words, evidence) that you committed a crime, then you have no obligation to provide that to them. This is a protection granted to us by the Fourth Amendment. Furthermore, this extends to ANYONE police may encounter, not just U.S. citizens. It's amazing how many Americans don't understand that. But hey, our education systems are generally shit so I guess it makes sense..

@smith888: Sounds very European of you. "Government asks me to show my ID for a month and I'll happily comply." Sorry, that's not how we do things here.
