82

steve-815 (Jan 9, 2013 at 15:15)

Spencer's berm explosion? What berm, the one that used to be there?

40

Sinbin (Jan 9, 2013 at 15:54)

What injuries did he suffer to require a free helicopter ride out of there?

42

matthill9660 (Jan 9, 2013 at 16:12)

Not sure if this particular accident happened in the states.I'm sure it different up north with their healthcare system. However, i can tell you one thing, it wasn't a free heli lift if happened in the good old US of A.... a typical heli lift starts at $7000.

94

Sinbin (Jan 9, 2013 at 16:13)

Damn it's good to be military, free medical and dental!

262

Chadderz (Jan 9, 2013 at 16:31)

or to be British...

70

vic690 (Jan 9, 2013 at 16:40)

Just insure yourselves .. believe me .. i sold all my 3 bikes to pay for my heli rescue ..

41

finnrambo (Jan 9, 2013 at 17:33)

aren't heli rides free in canada? or is it not covered under healthcare?

80

virtumedia (Jan 9, 2013 at 18:15)

They're covered.

30

belling (Jan 9, 2013 at 18:52)

Not sure what the injury was. But that crash looked like it was at The Western Open at Kicking Horse.

30

ScandiumRider (Jan 9, 2013 at 19:45)

There's majority coverage in BC for residents. $80 ground or air if you've called 911. But if you're from out of province or country and not insured, helicopter rides are $2,700 per hour.

larryssman7 (Jan 9, 2013 at 20:06)

Damn, Canada sounds pretty awesome. How does one acquire citizenship? My last gnarly crash I waited for 45min for my mom to come find me and drive me to the hospital because I knew I wasn't going to be able to afford just the ambulance.

11

guigui333 (Jan 10, 2013 at 6:44)

last time i killed my leg i called an ambulance on top of the mountain they came to the top by the road disinfected my leg and everything they let me go in my car to the hospital didn't cost a dime....

if you go to hospital with the ambulance it's 125$ where ever u are

70

shrockie (Jan 10, 2013 at 10:51)

$40 a year gets you Heli-Flight insurance in California. a wise investment if you like to get crazy in the woods.

10

matthill9660 (Jan 10, 2013 at 12:53)

Good to know Shrockie well worth the 40 bucks.... i'm curious to know if my employer health program would cover a heli flight? Hopefully, would never be in a position to require one.

40

NAPALMJEFF (Jan 9, 2013 at 22:11)

i thought it red bender's sperm explosion then i watched it again .great video.

20

dfiler (Jan 13, 2013 at 8:25)

I love after the crash, his survival instinct of moving off the trail. He's all mangled but manages to roll over twice and get completely out of the way.

10

irlenborna (Jan 9, 2013 at 15:04)

Got my shorts, knee pads, neck brace and helmet, but I forgot my shirt. Do anything to ride your bike. Thats what I'm talkin bout!!!!!
