This place is unreal, really. Fast, loose, tech, flowy, steeps and tons of well built jumps and berms. Not to mention the many accomodations, restauraunts, shops, cafes, the list goes on and on. The hospitality we are shown each year here is also worth noting, you are always well looked after here.

The course on Friday evening was looking prime. The crew at SP always does a top notch job on their trail system and the course was no exception.

Friday morning was looking great with blue skies and high hopes amongst the boys. Time for some practice runs at speed. Did I say it was really, really fast here? After an eventful day full of high speed bails and OTBs, followed by repairs, and equipment swap outs, it was time for repleneshment and some much needed sleep.

When we awoke Sunday to the sound of Thunder and pounding rain we thought we were having a flashback from two weeks prior in Bear Mtn. After scrambling and checking the Dopplar on our phones, we bet on improved weather later in the day and that`s exactly what we got. Perfect racing weather was on the menu.

The course could not have been any better and the anticipation of who would take the top spots was high!

Everyone was pinned and rode really well all weekend, but it wasn`t meant to be for three of the squad with Regan being the only one to stay upright (after crashing hard on Saturday himself) and coming in 11th in Elite Mens with a conservative effort knowing he's headed to his home track this Sunday.

With most of the parents of our riders coming out, we had a real blast at Sun Peaks that weekend and cannot wait to go back again and hopefully get on the boxes next time!

A very sincere Thank you from all of us at DGR, to all of the very hardworking volunteers and anyone who had anything to do with putting this race on. Thanks also to Cycling BC for all they do in supporting and promoting Sport in BC at events like this and beyond.

I thought I'd never see Ryan Schnepf in front of a camera again. I'm surprised he wasn't pouting and sucking his thumb. The rest of the video was cool though.
