1989 Nishiki Barbarian clunker 26"

$299 GBP
Complete vintage bicycle for everyday use. Original frame, fork and wheels. Year of production 1988 or 1989. Has visible scratches but overall in good condition, ready to ride. Tires with no visible sign of wear. Silver bars on the photo have been changed to black ones with high rise.

So we assume hinged hardshell pads don't exist. I use Leatt Dual Axis and they are comfy, breathable and you can kick rocks with them.

works especially good with tube still attached... of course the inner tube is smaller than wheel and cut and used as a rim tape.

@rogue4130: depends on the terrain, riding style and luck. With 132 lbs of meat on my 35 lbs bike, running 2-ply DH tires with tubes do not guarenteed no puncture. However, DH tires running ghetto tubeless with inserts gave me exactly ONE flat tire on the span of a year, and only because the rim warped near its joint. I filled the crack with repair cord and continued riding though next two months!

I run tubeless with schrader valves and drilled rims. Dirt cheap and you can pump it anywhere with anything.

Nah, I prefer hard shells with pivots, which actually protect from heavy impacts. Soft ones are enduro knee socks to me.
