East Coast Showdown

Expect competitive fireworks when the best gravity racers on the East Coast collide at Killington Resort in Vermont over the 4th of July weekend. Both the Vittoria Eastern States Cup Enduro and Downhill series will be in action at The Beast of the East over the Independence Day holiday as the inaugural BOX Components East Coast Showdown takes over the largest lift-serviced trail network in Vermont. The terrain and size of Killington are mind boggling. To whet your appetite: The Enduro on Saturday will feature the single longest and most varied stage ever offered on the East Coast, by far.

ESC Blue Mountain Enduro
The BOX Components East Coast Showdown is a mini series meant to entice both enduro and downhill racers to compete in both disciplines. Here is how the scoring will work: Each racer will get the normal ESC points for their finishing place, i.e., 100 points for a win, 95 points for second, 90 points for third, etc. To level the playing field, the number of racers in your category is then added to your total. So a racer who wins a category with 30 entrants gets 130 points while someone who wins a category only beating five racers gets 105 points. The totals from both the enduro and downhill races will be combined to determine the overall showdown winners.
The top three men and women win the following prizes at each Showdown.
1st place: BOX Carbon DH Bars and Direct mount stem
2nd place: BOX Carbon DH Bars
3rd place: Promax Carbon Bars

Pat s Peak ESC DH
The enduro race will be held on Saturday and the downhill on Sunday. There will be discounted entries available for racers competing in both events. The Killington event is the first of three showdowns, with similar events at Mount Snow and Sugarbush later in the season.

The overall winners of the three combined showdowns will receive an even sweeter prize package and custom steel trophies.

Killington is just awesome and getting better - Gravity Logic putting in trails to what they already have. Just a great mountain. Can't wait for these races.

I live between Killington and Sugarbush. I Make the trip to Sugarbush instead. I hope gravity logic did something good.

Just did opening weekend at both Killy and Sugar - Gravity only did basic, very beginner stuff. Very disappointed. Sugar still the best. Needed a little weed whacking on some (snowball and the ski runs they cross over) but you're right , that place is first - longer lift time, cheaper cost, more and better trails.

I'm headed to Highland Bike Park in NH that weekend...maybe this will take away the intimidation of the good riders that would otherwise be there Smile

It was an awesome 4th of July weekend there last year and I'm sure this one will be better. Eastern States Cup + killington = Must be there.
