Derek Priest has shared on social media a wild send that sees a massive Double Backflip Bar Spin sent to dirt. Derek could be only the second person to land this to dirt.
Second person to ever double backflip bar spin to dirt. Such an unforgettable moment. Makes me stoked I was able to do it in a line.— Derek Priest
Definitely worded my post wrong. What I meant was for all I know I’m the second person to land one in Slopestyle mtb. I’m sure with all the crazy guys who ride dirt bmx competitions a couple of them have done it.
Right? somewhere along the FMB diamond i saw the scoring leaning towards technical combos like ssx tricky instead of steeze and amplitude counting as much as it did in the early days. I lost interest. I can only handle so many double whip bars to oppo truckdriver tailwhips before I start longing for a fat superman or some off axis trick.
@GravityIsGod: Saw the same thing go down in the BMX world during the 2000’s. ESPN and the Gravity Games scored higher on flips, spins, and whips, rather than style or how big. I think we’re seeing a delayed version of the same thing now in the slopestyle runs. Although it is nice to see those tricks on a bigger bike, and on MUCH bigger features, I still long for a big, floaty, stretched-out one-handed table-360.
