Video: Homemade ABS on a Mountain Bike
Haven't watched the video and don't really intend to but guessing well modulated brakes take care of this.

Review: Syncros' Hixon SL IC Integrated Carbon Bar & Stem
@hans-dampf-26er: thanks. The article mentions the Enve M7 at 800mm and says it's 40mm longer than the Hixon, but must be a typo.

Randoms - iceBike 2019
@not-finbar: didn't know that actually - I stand corrected. Only got into mtb in the late nineties so don't remember those frames.

Review: Syncros' Hixon SL IC Integrated Carbon Bar & Stem
I really like the idea of this integration. Hopefully there will be more options in the future (alu version with 38mm rise for around £100 - £150 please). Also, I can sort of see the point of the wierd shape, a lot more of the front wheel is visable from rider perspective.

Randoms - iceBike 2019
They've been around for decades but only started producing quality/serious bikes in the last 5-10 years. They originally made really cheap 'Walmart' type bikes and the name had a terrible reputation/stigma for ages. How times have changed.

Review: MicroSHIFT's New $125 Advent Drivetrain
@WAKIdesigns: I ride ss for everything now and yes, very much dictated by terrain. Pretty flat where I am and would definitely go back to gears if regularly riding bigger hills. That said, even when I did used to, I never really felt the need for more than 10 speed.

The Guy Who Designed Chromag's Doctahawk Hardtail Explains Why It's So Long & Slack
Yeh, his point on descending #6 is a good one. It's easy to get carried away on the internet and exaggerate problems which, in practice on the trails, aren't problems at all.

5 More Hardtails with Extreme Geometry
@gumbytex: a short travel sus is fun on those types of trail for sure (I've had several), but no full sus bike will ever match the feeling of boosting off a perfectly formed jump, or railing/pumping through a smooth berm that a hardtail gives you. It's magical.

Because unfortunately not everyone is lucky enough to live in Whistler or near a proper mountain.
