Video: Brendan Fairclough's Rampage POV
@wiscobiker: While I haven't been to rampage, I know that you cannot send a 40ft drop into a rock garden. But what I mean is that every feature seems to be perfectly manicured. At 0:39 fairclough sends it off the rock drop and the drop take off isnt perfectly flat and made into slopestyle like step down drop, its just the edge of the rock and he sends it off and thats what rampage is. Its making the best of what you have, not making every feature into the best most perfect bike park style feature.

Video: Brendan Fairclough's Rampage POV
While all the riders had gnarly lines and crazy tricks. A lot of the rampage lines made me think, damn those drops/jumps is way too big for me.. But Brendog's line made me think, DAMN that line has drop/jumps that are too big for me AND technical sections that are too gnarly for me. That's what I love about rampage the mixture of technical riding with big jump features. Rampage seems to have morphed more into a FEST style comp where the jumps are huge and gnarly but mostly the track is mostly "smooth".

@JustinLund: they had fences dude. The whole lower part of HOD was fenced off to stop people sneaking around. It was wack!! I get that drinking in public is a crime and all but kokane sponsers the damn event lol

@bizutch: yea dude it’s getting very monetized I feel, only a matter of time that it requires a ticket to event get up the hill at all to watch...I’m up for the whole summer pretty much so I avoid the park too, as the lines are long and the trails full of people riding the trails for the first time and they get wrecked by the races.

Video: The Last Time You'll See This Joyride Course? - Inside The Tape
I agree, remember a few years back they had a loop on the course even and loads of line choices that adds variety and makes the course fun to watch! Also get shrink the $130 dollar vip sections that take up loads of space and aren’t even full and the bloody bag searches lol

Anyone else that saw the even live think it’s starting to loose the true atmosphere of the event? Bag checks like a night club, huge vip section taking up so much space that’s not even full, crowds pushed into smaller areas and the crowd didn’t seem as as rowdy and hype as previous years?

Large Kona operator (carbon frame from 2016)

$1399 CAD
Most of the components are from a 2013 Kona operator DH bike but the frame is a 2016 supreme operator carbon frame. This bike rides the park very well, great over jumps and also fun on the tech. There is a DHX RC4 Kashima shock thats only 2 seasons old. In addition I have also changed the stem to a direct mount stem and put different handle bars on (race face atlas) and changed the rear rim and the seat from the stock. In all honesty the bike will need a new derailer and derailer hanger and theyre bent (still pedals but shifts badly).
