I really don't think comparing this event to the superbowl is appropriate at all haha The superbowl is an entertainment focused event put on by the NFL with an audience that isn't even remotely comparable to that of red bull rampage, and also has wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy more money involved, lol. This event is an "extreme" outlier in the sport of cycling and heavily promoted to the public, because it's the most cost effective way to get the most clicks out of the people who would otherwise never click any other cycling related link to click. Think NFL fans, or Superbowl fans who want the most entertainment possible in the least amount of time possible. A 5 second crash clip from Rampage will get more views on socials than Danny Hart's winning run these days, which means more $ returned for those involved (promoting).

@mi-bike: Darn, even more depressing it wasn't a mod, because honestly Pinkbike is just promoting or trying to make $ off this story... I don't want to see the video, and I don't support this event. It's morally conflicting when an entity can support an event with an alarming pattern of grave injury due to a competition in which the winner is decided upon by human judgement. Even if the participants are willing that doesn't make it okay, and even if it "progresses" the sport I don't think it's progressive for humanity to participate in any event like this, or report on it, and then even comment on it like I am. I'm ashamed to be typing this out, but at least can speak my truth.

Censoring a comment asking for more information on an article posted based on an injury displayed to it's (Pinkbike) audience seems a bit off. What's the intent of sharing this news and then creating silos as you choose?
