No Derailleur, No Cassette: Gobao's New 1500W Motor Eliminates Traditional Shifting
@ryridebike: “… low hanging, super expensive, super finicky piece of super light alloy/carbon right next to the ground to keep wasting our money…” you’re describing the cranks! I’ve broken a crank or two from repeated hits in rock gardens, it really is time to get rid of them! These motors put out more power than even an Olympic athlete could hope to achieve so why attach the throttle to these low hanging pedals when we could just put it safely on the handlebars!

@stiingya: I hope you know all your friends are buying the exolift1000M now, so if you want to keep up, you will need to upgrade. It has a 10x power mode that is technically illegal at the gym, but we trust the users will only use that mode to get to the gym faster, and turn the power down during their workouts :)

First Look: New Bosch CX-R Motor, Plus Over-Air Torque and Power Enhancement for CX Drive Unit
@psullivan65: so are we saying 2 meters of a motor providing 100% of the power with no rider input is acceptable? Is that the limit of what we want to allow or would we be ok if Shimano came out with a motor that did 3m? What about 5m or 10m?

First Look: New Bosch CX-R Motor, Plus Over-Air Torque and Power Enhancement for CX Drive Unit
"....with the maximum assistance increasing to 400% of the rider's input." So the motor is doing 80% of the work. Not trying to be inflammatory, but I'd like to hear peoples opinions: At what point do we call it a motorbike and not a e-bike anymore, 90%, 99.999%? Surely a Surron with some pedals bolted on wouldn't be an "ebike" so where is the line between 80% of the work and a Surron? If the motor is doing the vast majority of the work anyway, why do we care if it is turned on via pedal strokes vs a throttle? Why couldn't a motor of the same power as this one be used with a throttle on mtb trails? Do we NEED people to put in that 20% effort for symbolic reasons?
