UPDATE: now in 2020 we are of to a violent start here in toronto. 2019 was the most violent year in toronto for gun violence in the citys history.after closing a number of police stations in 2016 and laying off all the officers the chief of police and mayor tory are trying to figure out what they can do to stop the steady increase of shooting and stabbings on our streets. meanwhile everywhere that there is construction or road repair done there are city police standing there to watch or guide traffic when they should be out on the streets doing their job. apparently they do it for overtime pay. give them more road time to clean up our streets for overtime and the construction companies should hire security guards or provide better training for flagmen. im not an expert but i think that would make a huge difference in a short time. and perhaps reopen some divisions and hire some cops. but im just a civilian what do i know...
