The 2017 Enduro World Series got off to a stormy start in New Zealand at the Crankworx Rotorua Giant TOA Enduro. Heavy rains before and during the weekend made for one of the wildest EWS events ever. Giant Factory Off-Road Team riders faced tough conditions—especially Canadian Mckay Vezina, who got the brunt of the storm during the men’s finals and had to negotiate sticky mud and deep ruts aboard his Trance Advanced just to make it down the mountain. The squad was led by Liv rider Rae Morrison riding her Hail Advanced team bike on her home turf in New Zealand. Rae finished 11th in her first EWS race for Liv, a great start to the season for the New Zealand native. Team leader Josh Carlson missed this EWS round due to family reasons.

@mudmandhbrazil: the Giant Factory Team are running carbon frames. The frame the team is running is a frameset option. Josh Carlson, Adam Craig and Mckay are riding the same frame.

thanks now I understand. the cheaper Trance looks a lot with the carbon frameset.

Liv clothing is so much nicer than Giant. More inconspicuous and the light blue and white looks like MX (as do the Norco Kelly crayons). Keep your colors similar to Liv and it would be way cooler

Curious about what bike he is riding An US 2.700 Giant Trance? Sure there are custom parts and suspension but he opted to ride an aluminium frame instead of carbon? why chose a heavier bike instead of a lighter one? I know lots of riders are racing with trail bikes but why a sponsored racer is riding one of the cheaper frame from Giant that's strange...

maybe he just prefers the feel of the aluminium one, just a personal preference?

Rae's handlebar seems to be too wide for her. She usually run a 750mm handlebar, but it seems really wide here.
