Opinion: Keeping the Spark Alive
My first bike when I got back into mountain biking was an aluminum 2013 Specialized Camber. I rode that thing for years as newer and "more progressive" bikes came along, then I finally caved in and bought a Yeti SB115 to replace it. It was heavier than the aluminum Camber, and maybe it was the disappointment of the weight among a few other things, but I regretted that purchase as it failed to replicate the feeling I had on the Camber...

@joni0001984: Not to mention, you must be riding some seriously technical trails if you need a 190mm travel bike, in which case having that steep of a STA might indeed be beneficial :-)

@joni0001984: Do you take your 190mm travel bike on 4+ hour cross-country rides where you are more or less constantly pedaling? I mean, to each their own, but I can only imagine the discomfort in my hands (not to mention the inability to use my glutes properly) if I was positioned that far forward while pedaling for hours.

"Reach comes in at 420mm, 540mm, 480mm and 507mm for the S, M, L and XL frames, respectively" I think someone fell asleep at the keyboard while typing this out :-) The correct numbers are, by the way, 420mm, 450mm, 480mm and 507mm for the S, M, L and XL frames, respectively.

Because it is a cross-country bike made for pedaling and covering distance, not super technical riding? I strongly dislike the super-steep STAs on modern trail bikes, as I like to ride my MTB over long distances and the steep STA ends up putting too much pressure on the hands. This seems like a good compromise between an old-school 73 deg STA and ~78 deg STA we see on many modern trail bikes.
